Porn Vs. Real Life: The War of Fantasies

The next time you lock yourself in your room to surf through your favourite porn site, pause and think for a moment before you pull down your pants.

Here’s how:

1. Not everything in porn is genuine. If you believe it to be, get ready for some major letdowns. Sex does not usually last that long nor do people achieve orgasms that easily!

2. Blowjobs might look sexy, or even necessary, on screen. But the reality is, semen is often accompanied by a foul smell and taste. (Not everyone’s cup of tea!)

3. No matter who it is or where you are, sex (especially weird or rough fantasies) requires consent. Contrary to porn, you cannot just barge into someone’s personal space and demand to get on with them (unless both of you have decided on it beforehand)!

4. Size does not matter! Whether we are talking about penises or breasts, bigger does not necessarily mean better. We are humans after all, not popcorn tubs at movie theatres!

5. Bodies of women (and especially men) are not always as clean shaved as they are depicted on screen to be. It is not usually possible for everyone to be hairless to that extent since getting rid of it is often a painful process.

6. Sexual positions depicted in porn are analogous to the work out sessions of gymnasts. Thinking that you or your partner can achieve that level of flexibility without any prior experience or regular practice can bring you down screaming real quick (and not in a sexy way).
